Overview of Xdiorm
Xdiorm is a groundbreaking digital tool designed for participatory urban development. It fosters “co-creation” by enabling everyone involved in city planning—citizens, experts, and stakeholders alike—to visualize, share, and experience future city designs in real-time. By integrating advanced technologies like VR, digital twins, IoT, and 3D printing, Xdiorm remains focused on a human-centered approach, ensuring it’s accessible and easy to use for anyone.
Tangible Tokens are equipped with 2D markers that allow the Xdiorm Unit to track their position. Each marker has a unique ID linked to a corresponding 3D model or set of data. The Unit Box sends this positional information to the cloud, where it is aggregated and synchronized with web or VR applications via API. This architecture allows for unlimited expansion, enabling multiple Xdiorm Units and VR applications to operate simultaneously.
The Xdiorm Unit
The Xdiorm Unit is a specialized box equipped with an LCD screen on the tabletop that displays digital maps and tracks the position of Tangible Tokens placed on it. Each unit is highly versatile, supporting different scales—from 1/50 for detailed eye-level spatial planning to 1/2000 for large-scale urban landscape design. Xdiorm Units can be connected and combined in various configurations to meet the needs of your project or workshop.

Tangible Tokens
We provide over 100 types of highly sought-after street furniture, including benches, greenery, streetlights, bicycles, and food trucks. Each Tangible Token is crafted using 3D printing or carved from styrofoam to closely mimic real-world shapes. The scaled tokens make spatial planning more intuitive, while also making the process of selecting and placing tokens enjoyable for users. Tokens representing landmarks, activities, or local features can be custom-made to meet specific needs.
With over 100 types of tokens available by default, and the ability to use up to 900 tokens at once, the possibilities for creative urban design are endless.
System Management App
At the heart of the Xdiorm system is the System Management App. This essential tool allows you to manage available Tangible Tokens and Xdiorm Units while creating and organizing “workspaces” by arranging Xdiorm Units on the map. You can easily capture and store “snapshots” of scenes created within Xdiorm, making them accessible at any time for further review or collaboration.
VR App
The Xdiorm VR App leverages the power of a high-performance gaming PC to render and display high-quality 3D graphics in real time. It can simultaneously showcase multiple perspectives from different viewpoints set on the Xdiorm Units. For a fully immersive experience, users can connect a VR headset and walk through the virtual space they’ve created.
Favorite scenes can be saved as snapshots, allowing you to revisit and reproduce them at any time.
